Cisco
Systems Corporate Philanthropy
supports three primary
initiatives through the Cisco Foundation and Community Investment:
workforce development for the new economy, non-profit technology
leverage, and the legacy of individual philanthropists.
The Cisco
Systems Foundation
serves as the primary cash investment
vehicle to provide grants to organizations with long-lasting,
local or global impact. Community
Investment
supports a spectrum of turnkey programs to
assist community-based organizations and our own employees
in their endeavors to become positive social change agents.
Cisco's
Support for Global Compact
- At the World Economic Forum
in Davos, Switzerland on 31 January 1999, UN Secretary-General
Kofi A. Annan challenged world business leaders to "embrace
and enact" the Global Compact, both in their individual
corporate practices and by supporting appropriate public
policies. These principles cover topics in human rights,
labor and environment.
