The Cisco Networking Academy Program announced the introduction of two new, highly demanded courses in addition to the existing suite of curriculum - Fundamentals of Network Security and Fundamentals of Wireless LANs at the League for Innovations 2002 being held on November 18 in Long Beach, Calif. The courses will be implemented in mid-2003.
There has never been a greater need for professionals trained in network security. Organizations and Governments face a serious threat against information burglars, which might jeopardize their information security and daily business operations. Fundamentals of Network Security is designed to prepare students for certification in this field. The course will teach students to design and implement security solutions that will reduce the risk of revenue loss and vulnerability. The 70-hour course will be an introduction to network security and overall security processes and will lead toward a Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification.
In addition, the Cisco Networking Academy will begin offering a course in wireless LANs, which will prepare students for certification as wireless network administrators. As businesses increasingly depend on wireless technologies in everyday practices, this new Cisco course will train students to develop, implement and troubleshoot wireless networks. This course will prepare students to achieve the Cisco Wireless LAN Support Specialist Designation. Successful completion of the Cisco wireless course will also prepare students for the vendor neutral Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) exam.
The Networking Academy program is a recognized blended e-learning model that integrates high-quality face-to-face teaching with the multimedia delivery of challenging curricula and embedded assessment over the Internet. The program has grown to more than 10,000 Academies in 50 U.S. States and nearly 150 countries with a curriculum taught in 9 different languages.
